Bacteria originating from dog waste is a common contaminant at places where runoff enters Georgica Pond. The top of Georgica Cove is a prime example. Earlier in the month the Village of East Hampton took another step to address this threat.
“East Hampton Village is pleased to install these additional dispensers at the request of the Friends of Georgica Pond and we hope the community will take advantage and use them when walking their dogs,” said Mayor Rick Lawler. “We are happy to provide them and want to thank the Friends for bringing this matter to our attention.”
