A cold, windy day didn’t stop a crowd of people from the annual beach clean up at Georgica Pond on Saturday, March 30. Friends of Georgica Pond Foundation and the Eastern Long Island Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation organized the event.
People of all ages including a 12 person contingent from the East Hampton Library’s Young Adult program participated. Joining the fun was East Hampton Town Trustee David Cateletto.
Over 50 pounds of plastic and other garbage including an abandoned beach umbrella and two broken eel traps were collected.
