The East Hampton Town Trustees have started dredging Georgica Pond. Sand is piled up and transported off the beach to refurbish eroding dunes nearby. Heavy equipment is in use and the public is urged to stay away from the work area. Annual dredging at the mouth of the pond helps balance the accumulation of sand that is deposited in the pond by waves and wind.
