State of Georgica Pond 2022

The Annual Meeting of the Friends of Georgica Pond Foundation was held on a beautiful summer morning on August 14, 2022. Eighty-five people enjoyed the generous hospitality of Anna Chapman & Ronald Perelman at The Creek’s theater, coffee and breakfast snacks and a presentation on the “State of Georgica Pond” by Dr. Christopher Gobler.

Dr. Gobler is the Friend’s science advisor and is the Endowed Chair of Coastal Ecology & Conservation at Stony Brook University as well as the Director of New York State Center for Clean Water Technology. To view Dr. Gobler’s report visit our Reports page.

Sara Davison, the Executive Director of Friends, updated the group on the threat of a major industrial/commercial subdivision in the Pond’s watershed. For more information on this threat go to stopwainscottcommercialcenter.org.
