Environmental Dredging at Georgica Cove

You may have noticed a lot of activity at the upper end of Georgica Cove lately. The western end of Cove Hollow Road is temporarily closed off so that an environmental dredging project can proceed. The purpose of the dredging is to deepen the channel and improve tidal flow in the Cove. Unlike navigational dredging, this project is strictly to help improve water quality and is a pilot project that we hope will be applicable to other shallow coves and creeks on the pond. The project is a partnership with the East Hampton Town Trustees and the Village of East Hampton whose support is critical to its success.
